About point sur advisors

Our PRimary Purpose

We bring our clients ideas. We deliver straightforward service. Our clients can always get a hold of us.

Clients hire us to help them make decisions about their money, their assets, their families, and their businesses. You are reading this because your company, employees or family are relying on you to make decisions that will impact their lives over the long- term. Hiring a professional to help with the complexities of designing a company retirement plan or managing your assets is as much of an investment as the portfolio you hold or the assets you accumulate. We want to be the advisor you choose to help with that.

Our Primary Purpose

Our founder, Erika, started in the financial services industry in 2010 working for a wealth management firm that provided retirement plan consulting to local businesses and wealth management services for high-net-worth clients. She started the company that became Point Sur Advisors in 2016. Some of the guiding principles are being able to provide investment advice and retirement plan design that are actionable by the client. Erika is accessible to her clients and their other advisors. She brings ideas to her clients to solve some of their most pressing financial concerns—whether it’s an ever-changing regulatory environment for retirement plan sponsors or help managing assets to carry on a legacy the next generation. She is affiliated with LPL Financial for its robust wealth management & retirement plan resources. Her membership with RPAG allows her to provide current and relevant guidance to our retirement plan sponsor clients.

We think it will be well worth your time to check us out and see if our firm can help you.

A lot of business owners I meet are great at running their business.

But when you ask them if they're on track for retirement, they couldn't tell you. They have the same fears of running out of money that all pre-retirees struggle with, or they don't have a plan at all.

Most don't have the time to be great at running a business and great at optimizing their personal finances at the same time. So the big decisions keep getting pushed.

Decisions that compound over years into real money either kept or lost. And the longer they sit unanswered, the harder they get.

In my opinion, the time to start is 10-15 years before you're ready to stop. That's when the decisions still have room to work.

Self-employed professionals and small business owners who are still heads down running the business but starting to wonder if the personal plan is actually there.

Here's what that looks like in practice:
→ Choosing the right business structure
→ Designing a retirement plan that works for you and your employees
→ Coordinating investments across account types
→ Reducing your lifetime tax bill
→ Optimizing your salary to keep more of what you earn
→ Maximizing the QBI deduction that so many overlook
→ Managing personal finances and investments outside the business so everything works cohesively
→ Planning the transition — income, taxes, and passing assets to heirs

I'm here to make sure the financial plan and the tax strategy are working toward the same goal because when they're not, it's you who pays for it.

When you're ready to stop, the income should be there, you should have a tax plan, and you should have somebody looking out for blind spots for you.
